Extended Care: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.

The Mid-Hudson Children's Museum Full Day Camp for ages 7 - 9 year olds has a special theme each session and will include hands-on activities, crafts, snack, discovery time in the museum and a museum t-shirt. Campers will also enjoy the off site visits to the YMCA and Dutchess County Jewish Community Center for indoor swimming and rock climbing and other theme related trips.

Clay Creations		Campers will learn how to manipulate clay into decorative and functional three-dimensional objects. Instructors from the Barrett Clay Works Studio will lead ceramics workshops on various hand-building techniques. The clay projects will be glazed and fired; ready to be taken home at a later date. Campers will also enjoy the off site visits to the YMCA and Jewish Community Center for indoor swimming and rock climbing and a trip to Barrett Clay Works in Poughkeepsie. Animation
July 7 - 10, 2008
Campers will learn how to create moving pictures under the guidance of instructors from Children’s Media Project . Our young animators will create unique characters, develop storylines, and experiment with stop-motion digital animation. The campers will produce animated shorts that will be compiled onto DVD's to take home at a later date. Campers will also enjoy the off site visits to the YMCA and Jewish Community Center for indoor swimming and rock climbing and a trip to Children's Media Project in Poughkeepsie. Hudson River Discovery	Campers will discover what makes our Hudson River an estuary. We will seine the river using our 30 ft net and explore creatures that live in the river and the Fallkill Creek. We will also examine water samples, play the water cycle game and decorate a monocular - a small viewing scope to view the river and beyond. Each week will feature off-site visits for indoor swimming and rock climbing. Cost

Fly Away		Campers will learn about air pressure and what makes things fly. We will create simple flying machines such as paper airplanes, paper parachutes and a hot air balloon. Campers will have the opportunity to fly their creations during the week! Cost

Adventure Camp
Aug 18 - 21
9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Ages 10 - 12
Young adventurers will immerse themselves in science, history, art and athletics on daily journeys throughout the Hudson River Valley. Past excursions have included Norrie Point Environmental Center, Mt. Gulian and Storm King Art Center. Campers will meet at the museum in the morning. They will travel each day's destinations by van, boat and/or train, returning to the museum at day's end. Cost
