September 26, 2005 - Congressman Maurice Hinchey Presides Over Exhibit Opening

Congressman Maurice Hinchey spoke at the unveiling of the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum's "Battle for Liberty Hands-on History" exhibit. Congressman Hinchey played a pivotal role, together with United States Senators Charles Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton in obtaining funding for the exhibit through the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.

June 1, 2006 - Senator Clinton Visits Poughkeepsie and Tours Museum

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton signed the U.S. Constitution in the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum's "Battle for Liberty" exhibit. The Senator's support for federal appropriation funding through an Institute of Museum and Library Services grant was crucial to the development of the exhibit.

 

August 8, 2006 - Senator Saland Spends the Morning at Camp
New York State Senator Stephen M. Saland joined with our summer campers in the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum's Invention Camp for kite launching. In 2002, Senator Saland enabled the museum to open at our Hudson River location by obtaining state funding toward structural renovations. Recently, he obtained funding for our elevator design and installation.
September 19, 2006 - Museum Welcomes the County Executive

County Executive William Steinhaus has been a long time supporter of the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum. He has worked to direct a variety of county related funding sources to the museum including: the Industrial Development Authority, Dutchess County Youth Bureau, Dutchess County Children's Services Council, Dutchess County Department of Social Services and The Dutchess County Health Department.
